From Christmas to New Years: Celebrate, Then Consolidate

Still have an unorganized box of ornaments?

Take a look around you. Find any of these items below still scattered or hanging around in your house?

  • Leftover wrapping paper, Christmas decorations – better yet, your Christmas tree
  • New Year decorations or celebratory items (i.e. streamers, noise makers)

If so, then these tips are perfect for you!

 Quick and Easy Storage

Organize and store your leftover holiday items in plastic bin.

    • Plastic Bins: store your holiday wrapping supplies in medium-sized plastic bins. They’re large enough to fit all the wrapping necessities, yet small enough to save space in your closet (or wherever you store your holiday items).
      • Boxes: we like this option, as you can add or even create separators for items. These are ideal for fragile objects, such as Christmas ornaments.

Get large plastic totes. And hey, why not get colorful?

    • Tote: Think BIG. Go for the 30-gallon sized storage tote (or a larger version of the plastic bins). These bad boys deal with the heavy duty or all the excess materials that have been exhausted during your holiday celebrations. These could include New Years Eve horns or squawkers (those horns that unfold and unravel when you blow in them, but produce no sound), or Christmas lights, the wreath, and the stairway decorations.
  • Bags: The folks at PersonalizedChristmas had the right idea when they suggested buying a wrap-around bag for artificial trees. You can store your tree back in the shed without dissembling your tree and placing it back in its box… Major time saver!
